What lead you to this career?

I started out in journalism. In college and right after college, I worked for NPR affiliate covering local government issues. This opportunity gave me a great background into how local government functions. I was able to apply for a position in the City of Plano Marketing Department in 2013, working as Sr. Marketing Coordinator, focusing on social media for the city. In 2016, I began working on my MPA at UT Dallas, which helped prepare me for my position as the Assistant to the City Manager, which I began in February of 2019.

What energizes you outside of work?

Sewing, bike riding, and boot camp workouts are what give me energy. I enjoy creating my own sewing patterns and making things for my family. I own two regular sewing machines and an embroidery machine. I will soon teach myself how to crochet.

This is awesome Olga, tell us more.

What’s your proudest accomplishment from 2019?

Definitely being the first person to graduate college in my family, I could not have done it without God and incredible support I have received from my family and mentors within the ACU community!

Please share more about yourself, Kevin.

What question should we have asked? What’s the answer?

What I want to do with this degree after I graduate? The answer would be I want to go into human resource management and then down the road take all that I have learned through my coursework and job experiences, and create my own non-profit organization.

How exciting Bora, tell us more!
